Tommy Hanson held the Reds to one run on four hits in six innings of work on Wednesday, taking a no-decision in Atlanta's 2-1 loss in Cincinnati.
Hanson struck out five and walked only two, but got let down by his offense. The quality start was his third in his past four outings, and leaves him with a 3.12 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 51/23 K/BB ratio through 57 2/3 frames. He'll get the Cardinals at home on Monday.

Tommy Hanson pitched seven strong innings Friday to earn his fifth win of the season.
Hanson allowed two runs and six hits while striking out three. His pitch count forced him from the game after seven innings. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 3.31 ERA and 46 strikeouts through his first nine starts.

Tommy Hanson beat the Cardinals Sunday by allowing one run over five innings.
Hanson was forced to throw 97 pitches in his relatively short time on the hill, but he did strike out a season-high nine batters. It's the most strikeouts he's posted since fanning 14 Astros back in June of last season. Hanson hasn't given up more than four earned runs in any of his eight starts this season and will face the Rays in interleague play next time out.

Tommy Hanson pitched well despite picking up a loss Monday, surrendering two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against the Cubs.
He struck out three, with the only blemishes on the night coming in the form of back-to-back blasts from Bryan LaHair and Ian Stewart in the fourth inning. Hanson's velocity still isn't back where it once was, but he's allowed two or fewer runs in five of seven outings and has struck out 34 in 39 2/3 innings. He'll carry a 3.69 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into this weekend's start in St. Louis.

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that Chipper Jones (calf) is "worse today than before."
Jones hasn't started since suffering a left calf contusion when he was smacked in the leg by a line drive off the bat of Rays' outfielder B.J. Upton last Friday. According to O'Brien, the stiffness moved up in his calf after they "milked" the contusion on Wednesday. We're not sure what that means exactly, but it certainly sounds gross. He remains sidelined indefinitely.

Braves placed RHP Arodys Vizcaino on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
It's a procedural move, as Vizcaino underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this month. The hard-throwing right-hander will hope to make it back for the start of 2013.

Braves placed LHP Robert Fish on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with left elbow tendinitis.
Fish made three appearances this spring before being shut down due to soreness. The 24-year-old left-hander was selected from the Angels in December's Rule 5 Draft, but the Braves get to keep him around as long as he's on the disabled list.
