Tommy Hanson held the Yankees to two runs over 6 1/3 innings Saturday as the Angels grabbed a 6-2 win.
Hanson struck out a season-high eight batters in an impressive showing against a fairly stout New York lineup. The right-hander yielded both runs in a shaky third inning but was otherwise sharp, yielding just five total hits and one walk while moving to 4-2. He has an improving 3.94 ERA and makes for a decent fantasy streamer next week in a matchup at home against the Mariners. Hanson, 26, owns a 3.64 career ERA.

Tommy Hanson yielded two runs in five innings Saturday in a win over the Red Sox.
Hanson threw 114 pitches before exiting, as he allowed seven hits while walking four and striking out four. He's fortunate that he didn't give up more than two runs. Hanson hasn't completed seven innings in any of his starts this year and has just 23 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings. His appeal is mixed leagues is limited at this point.

Tommy Hanson lost in his return from the restricted list on Friday, giving up five runs -- four earned -- in 6 1/3 innings against the Astros.
Hanson recorded just two strikeouts against the free-swinging Astros tonight. We're rooting for him, but the stuff just doesn't seem to be there to make him a quality starter for the Angels.

Angels activated RHP Tommy Hanson from the restricted list.
Hanson has been away from the team since early May due to a death in the family. He threw 75 pitches in a five-inning simulated game over the weekend and is likely to rejoin the rotation on Friday for a start against the Astros.

Madson has had multiple setbacks in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, so there's obviously no timetable for his return at this point. If he encounters another speed bump along the way, he could wind up shutting things down.

Burnett paid a visit to Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday and received mostly good news. The lefty reliever had a 0.93 ERA in 9 2/3 innings this season before hitting the shelf. He is on the disabled list indefinitely.

Robert Coello (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for the next four weeks due to soreness in his elbow and shoulder.
The 28-year-old right-hander was making a strong impression in the Angels' bullpen before the elbow soreness set in. He won't be ready to return until after the All-Star break.

Angels transferred LHP Andrew Taylor from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Taylor was diagnosed with a small tear in his labrum last month. While he won't need surgery, it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined. The 26-year-old posted a 4.27 ERA and 56/25 K/BB ratio over 59 innings between Double- and Triple-A last year.
