Josh Roenicke was perfect for 1 1/3 innings out of the pen Monday against the Tigers.
Roenicke was awfully valuable out of the pen for the Rockies last year, throwing 88 2/3 innings with a 3.25 ERA, but they decided to waive him over the winter. Claimed by the Twins, he has a 1.50 ERA in 12 innings so far this year. Meanwhile, the Rockies' bullpen imports have ERAs of 6.75 (Wilton Lopez) and 8.53 (Chris Volstad).

Twins claimed RHP Josh Roenicke off waivers from the Rockies.
Roenicke posted a 3.25 ERA over 88 2/3 innings for the Rockies this season, though it also came along with an ugly 54/43 K/BB ratio. He'll compete for a middle relief role next spring.

Josh Roenicke has secured a spot in the Rockies' Opening Day bullpen.
Roenicke posted a cool 0.79 ERA in 11 1/3 innings this spring in the Cactus League to earn the job. The right-hander will function as a middle reliever for the Rox.

Rockies recalled RHP Josh Roenicke from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
He'll take the place of Jason Hammel (paternity leave) on the active roster. Roenicke, 29, hasn't given up a run over 8 1/3 innings with the Rockies this season while striking out eight and walking three. He should stick with the big club down the stretch.

Trevor Plouffe passed an imPACT concussion test on Thursday.
Plouffe took a knee to the head Tuesday night when he tried to break up a double play and was placed on the 7-day disabled list because of his initial wooziness. However, he has already done some cardio work and should return right around when he's first eligible.

The best-case scenario is that Mastroianni will resume weight-bearing activities in three weeks. However, he's expected to be sidelined until the second half of the season.
