Lou Marson went 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 7-2 setback to the White Sox.
It was the backup catcher's fourth start of the season, as he has been earning about one per week. He stranded five runners in this game, and is now batting 1-for-12 (.083). A career .215 hitter, don't expect Marson to make much of an impact regardless of playing time.

Starting in the back end of Monday's double-header, Lou Marson connected on his first homer of the season.
He finished 2-for-4 on the day. With a .248/.295/.355 batting line, Marson is one of the better back-up catchers offensively.

Lou Marson will serve as the Indians' backup catcher.
Marson had to beat out Luke Carlin, Paul Phillips and Juan Apodaca for the job this spring. He won't see much playing time behind powerful starter Carlos Santana.

Lou Marson does not have a firm hold on the Indians' backup catcher position.
Marson will probably wind up in the role in the end, but non-roster invitees Luke Carlin, Paul Phillips and Juan Apodaca are also in Indians camp this spring. "He's here to battle for the backup job," Tribe manager Manny Acta said of Marson. "He's battling those other guys." The 24-year-old posted a .560 OPS, three homers and 22 RBI across 294 plate appearances last season.

Hannahan hasn't played since May 13, so it's surprising the Indians haven't placed him on the disabled list at this point. Perhaps he'll finally make it back by this weekend.

Grady Sizemore (back) took batting practice Wednesday for the first time since landing on the disabled list.
"He looked good for the first time," Acta said. "He swung the bat good, but it's just a start. We're not going to rush anything. He's going to continue his rehab, and I'm anticipating that he's going to go on a rehab assignment where he's going to have plenty of at-bats before he comes up here and plays." Sizemore has been hitting, throwing and doing running and agility drills, but he's not close to returning to the lineup. He's hoping to be back before the end of June.

Travis Hafner is being held out of Thursday's game against the Tigers due to a right knee bruise.
Indians skipper Manny Acta called the 34-year-old DH "day-to-day." Hafner is hitting .242/.380/.439 with six home runs and 23 RBI in 39 games played this season.

Tomlin tossed a successful 50-pitch simulated game on Thursday and won't need a rehab assignment before returning. His pitch count figures to be limited Monday.

Indians manager Manny Acta said Monday that Roberto Hernandez is confident he will receive his travel visa and return to the team.
Hernandez, formerly known as Fausto Carmona, was arrested in his native Dominican Republic in January for falsifying his identity. He reached a deal last month to have the charges dropped in exchange for completing a work program, but it's not clear when he'll receive a visa to travel to the United States. It's possible that MLB could still levy a suspension, though the Indians are hopeful that reducing his salary will serve as an appropriate punishment. He's staying in playing shape in the meantime.
