Stephen Strasburg was saddled with a loss in his long-awaited postseason debut on Friday, surrendering two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk over his five innings of work.
The hard-throwing young right-hander walked one and struck out a pair on the afternoon. The Giants were able to scratch out a run against him in the third inning on a single, fielder’s choice, passed ball, single combination and added on a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Brandon Belt after Hunter Pence had swiped second base. The Nationals will now turn to Jordan Zimmermann on Saturday as they look to even up the series at a game apiece. Oct 3 - 7:07 PM
