Alex Cobb brought a no-hitter into the eighth inning, but was left with a no-decision as the Rays suffered a walk-off loss against the Yankees on Thursday.
Cobb lost his no-hit bid with one out in the eighth inning when Chris Young doubled to right-center. The right-hander's night ended there, and Brad Boxberger promptly allowed his inherited runner to score on a Martin Prado home run. Over 7 1/3 innings, Cobb yielded just the one hit while walking two and striking out four. He has pitched wonderfully in the second half, now sporting a 1.26 ERA over his last 11 starts. Cobb will face the Yankees again in his next start, which will occur at home on Tuesday. Sep 11 - 10:23 PM
