Jake Smolinski went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and two total RBI in Saturday's loss to the Astros.
Smolinski crushed a solo home run off Astros starter Scott Kazmir in the second inning and added a deep RBI double in the fifth. Nice game for the 26-year-old outfielder, though he's just 20-for-88 in 32 games with the A's. He does have five homers and 17 RBI in that span, so the run production's there even if he's not doing much in terms of average. Sep 20 - 12:02 AM
