Jeremy Hefner gave up three runs -- one earned -- over five frames in Sunday's 4-3 victory over the Cubs.

Hefner allowed three hits and a run in the first but settled in to pitch pretty decently after that. He allowed six hits and a walk while striking out five for the day and avoided falling to 1-7 when the Mets rallied in the ninth. Hefner now holds a solid 3.96 ERA and 1.21 WHIP for the season, but note that he's given up seven unearned runs over his last two outings. When the Mets go to five starters, he's probably the likeliest to get the boot. For now, though, he's in line to start on Friday in Philly. Jun 16 - 4:32 PM

Niese allowed six hits and four walks, so it wasn't pretty, but he kept his team in the ballgame. However, a two-run single by opposing pitcher Scott Feldman in the fourth inning was enough to put him on the losing side. The southpaw has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last five starts and now owns a 4.15 ERA on the year. He'll face the Braves next week in Atlanta. Jun 15

Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues. May 17
