Mike Minor was undone by the longball Monday, serving up four solo shots over six innings in a loss to the Reds.
He allowed just one hit otherwise, but a solo blast in the first and back-to-back-to-back blasts in the fourth was all the Reds needed. Minor actually lowered his ERA to 6.96 in this one and has now put up five clunkers in a row. He’s on thin ice, but if he retains his rotation spot will face the Nationals this weekend.

Mike Minor had another rough night in Wednesday's loss to the Marlins, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks in just 4 2/3 innings.
Minor has now allowed at least six runs in four consecutive starts, exploding his ERA from 3.42 to 7.09. He still boasts a solid 44/15 K/BB ratio through 47 innings of work, but something clearly isn't right. Keep him benched when the Braves travel to Cincinnati on Monday.

Mike Minor struggled against the Cardinals on Friday, giving up six runs on eight hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.
Minor did manage to strike out seven and didn’t walk a batter in the game. His pitches were catching far too much of the plate though and he was very hittable. Matt Carpenter, Carlos Beltran and Allen Craig each took him deep on the night. Minor now sits at 2-2 with a 6.59 ERA and may be better served getting some more seasoning at Triple-A. He’ll look to improve next time out when he takes on the Marlins on Wednesday.

Mike Minor was lit up for eight runs in five innings by the Rockies on Saturday night.
Minor has been pounded twice in a row now, taking his ERA from 3.42 to 5.97. If it keeps up, it's possible he could be replaced by Jair Jurrjens in the rotation later this month. We don't expect it to come to that, though. He's still worth playing in NL-only leagues.

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that Chipper Jones (calf) is "worse today than before."
Jones hasn't started since suffering a left calf contusion when he was smacked in the leg by a line drive off the bat of Rays' outfielder B.J. Upton last Friday. According to O'Brien, the stiffness moved up in his calf after they "milked" the contusion on Wednesday. We're not sure what that means exactly, but it certainly sounds gross. He remains sidelined indefinitely.

Braves placed RHP Arodys Vizcaino on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
It's a procedural move, as Vizcaino underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this month. The hard-throwing right-hander will hope to make it back for the start of 2013.

Braves placed LHP Robert Fish on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with left elbow tendinitis.
Fish made three appearances this spring before being shut down due to soreness. The 24-year-old left-hander was selected from the Angels in December's Rule 5 Draft, but the Braves get to keep him around as long as he's on the disabled list.
