Twins prospect 3B Miguel Sano went 1-for-3 with a solo home run on Thursday for Double-A Chattanooga.
The dinger was Sano’s fourth with Chattanooga, but he’s batting just .159/.303/.381 through 18 games. The 21-year-old slugger missed the entire 2014 season due to Tommy John surgery and then logged just seven at-bats during spring training, so it’s not surprising that he’s off to a slow start in the Southern League. Sano should eventually settle in after the long layoff, and the Twins have every reason to make sure he gets back on track in the high minors. It’s still a possibility Sano will reach the major leagues this season, although a debut sometime in 2016 probably is more realistic. May 1 - 1:34 PM
