Blake Parker was called up to close out Sunday's win over the Rays, striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.
Nobody really has any idea what to make of the back end of the Angels' bullpen with Keynan Middleton now sidelined, so it's worth noting that Parker got the call to protect a three-run lead. He did it with little drama, allowing a hit but striking out two, including Johnny Field to end it, for his second save of the year. Parker is perhaps the most talented option that exists for manager Mike Scioscia, one who could provide some strikeouts and good ratios for fantasy owners along with saves. If he's available in your league, it's worth speculating that Sunday was a harbinger for things to come. May 20 - 8:12 PM
