Athletics optioned LHP Pedro Figueroa to Triple-A Sacramento.
Figueroa posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 10/1 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings this spring in the Cactus League. He will get a look in Oakland at some point.

Athletics recalled LHP Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A Sacramento.
Jim Miller was sent to High-A Stockton in a corresponding roster move. Figueroa has a 1.20 ERA and 8/11 K/BB ratio over 15 innings with the A's this season and will pitch in middle relief.

Figueroa has posted a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings this season with Oakland despite issuing 11 walks. The left-hander should be back up in the big leagues by mid-September.

Athletics recalled LHP Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A Sacramento.
Figueroa has allowed just two runs over 12 innings in his time with the A's this year, though he's also put up a 5/9 K/BB ratio. He'll give them a fresh arm after A.J. Griffin's early exit Saturday burned up the bullpen.

It's a procedural move to open up a 40-man roster spot. Sizemore underwent his second major knee surgery in two years last week and will not play this season.

Anderson is still working his way back from a stress fracture in his right foot and will be forced to remain in a walking boot for at least another four weeks. The Athletics have transferred him to the 60-day disabled list and he won't be reevaluated until after the All-Star break.

Rodriguez will miss the entire 2013 season. The 28-year-old had a 5.37 and 78/34 K/BB ratio over 70 1/3 innings last season with the Astros and was acquired in February's Jed Lowrie deal.
