Tyler Moore drove in five runs with a homer and a triple in the Nationals' 9-8 victory over the Braves on Friday.
Moore is out of options, which is one of the reasons the Nationals protected themselves by adding Mike Carp and Kila Ka'aihue on minor league deals. Moore, who has hit .239/.295/.418 with 18 homers in 414 at-bats for the Nationals over the last three years, wouldn't be an asset as an everyday first baseman or DH, but he'd make for a decent stopgap for any team that loses its starter. As a result, there's a pretty good chance he'll find himself elsewhere on Opening Day. Mar 6 - 5:57 PM
