Braves prospect RHP J.R. Graham allowed two runs on four hits and recorded only one out on Tuesday for Double-A Mississippi.
Graham, 24, was officially moved to Mississippi’s bullpen earlier in the month after posting a 5.26 ERA over 63 1/3 innings as a starter. Unfortunately, he hasn’t fared any better in the new role, allowing seven runs on 13 hits and four walks over 4 2/3 innings, and he’s now been scored on in three straight appearances. Graham simply hasn’t been the same after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in mid-May of 2013, as he’s lost some of the velocity and sinking action on his fastball. However, the right-hander still has the potential to carve out a role in the Braves' bullpen if he's able to return to his 2012 form. Aug 20 - 3:06 PM
