Jose Berrios was on his game in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the White Sox, surrendering two runs on four hits over eight innings.
Berrios struck out eight and walked one on the evening. The only run-scoring action on his line came via an RBI single by Avisail Garcia in the first inning and an RBI double play groundout by Melky Cabrera in the third. Not only did Berrios almost completely handcuff the White Sox in this one, he did so in extremely economical fashion, needing just 97 pitches to get through eight innings. This marks his second consecutive outing of eight frames. He has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last four starts and will try to keep the momentum going when he carries a 2.67 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 54/15 K/BB ratio (54 innings) into a road showdown with the Red Sox next time he takes to the mound.
