Rays acquired RHP Steve Geltz from the Angels for RHP Dane De La Rosa.
Geltz, 25, appeared in two games with the Angels last season. He posted a 3.05 ERA and 70 strikeouts over 59 innings between the Double-A and Triple-A levels, and will begin the 2013 regular season at Triple-A Durham.

The move clears him from the 40-man roster. Geltz made two appearances with the Angels last season and posted a 3.05 ERA with 70 strikeouts over 59 innings between Double- and Triple-A.

Geltz made only two appearances in 2012 for the Halos. He will serve as organizational bullpen depth this year.

David Price (triceps) is slated to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.
It will come after he plays catch on Sunday and again on Monday from a greater distance. It looked like Price might return earlier than expected after an impressive simulated game last Thursday, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen since there's still no timetable for when he'll begin a rehab assignment.

Alex Cobb (concussion) will not travel with the Rays on their upcoming seven-game road trip.
Cobb was diagnosed with a mild concussion at Bayfront Medical Center after being hit in the head by an Eric Hosmer line drive Saturday at Tropicana Field. He has been placed on the 7-day disabled list and will miss at least one turn in the Rays' starting rotation. The young right-hander has registered a fantastic 3.01 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 76/23 K/BB ratio in 83 2/3 innings this season.

It's his first since last September's Tommy John surgery. It's possible Oviedo could make it back to the Rays' bullpen late in the season, but they signed him in hopes that he could contribute in 2014.

Rays transferred RHP Jeff Niemann from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly-acquired Jeff Beliveau. Niemann underwent shoulder surgery last week and is unlikely to return this season.
