Micah Johnson went 2-for-2 and smacked a pair of doubles in a Grapefruit League loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.
The 27-year-old has a combined .224 batting average with zero homers and four RBI in 131 plate appearances spread over parts of three seasons with the White Sox, Dodgers and Braves. He had a whirlwind offseason -- getting released by the Braves, claimed by the Reds, released by the Reds, claimed by the Giants, released by the Giants then claimed by the Rays. He will try to make the roster as a backup super-utility player but will likely serve as organizational depth this year. Feb 24 - 6:20 PM
