Matt Grace limited the Red Sox to one hit over four shutout innings Wednesday in the Nationals’ 3-0 loss.
Grace came on in relief of Erick Fedde, who bowed out with a shoulder injury in the second inning. The left-hander struck out four and didn’t walk anyone over 46 pitches. Grace was put into a bad situation with Washington’s bullpen running on fumes after last night’s blowout loss (Wednesday’s 11 AM ET start time did the Nats no favors), but he made the most of his opportunity. This was Grace’s longest outing since August 18 of last year when he went 4 1/3 innings in a spot start against the Padres. The Nationals, who have lost five straight, are now a game under .500 at 42-43. Wed, Jul 4, 2018 02:46:00 PM
