Jeff Francoeur belted his third home run of the season in a losing effort against the Yankees on Tuesday.
He finished the night 2-for-4. After getting off to a slow start Francoeur has picked up the pace as of late, hitting .316 with a pair of homers and four RBI over his last nine games. While he's unlikely to match his stellar numbers from a year ago, he's still a capable fourth or fifth fantasy outfielder in most leagues.

Jeff Francoeur went 4-for-4 with a triple in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Francoeur's big day stood out in a game where there were only 12 total hits. The multi-hit day was just his fourth of the month. Francoeur will bring a .255/.305/.366 triple slash into play on Monday.

Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-5 with his first home run in Sunday's win over the White Sox.
Frenchy tagged Nate Jones for an eighth-inning solo shot. Francoeur is batting just .240/.291/.336 after signing a two-year, $13.5 million extension last August, but the Royals haven't given any indication they plan to bench their right fielder despite Wil Myers' hot-hitting in the minor leagues. Fantasy owners should have done so long ago in mixed leagues, however.

Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Tigers.
He now has a modest five-game hitting streak going, though this was his first multi-hit effort. Frenchy still doesn't have a homer and now has only five doubles after putting up 47 two-baggers last year. But, his average has creeped up to a respectable .253 after a slow start.

Royals manager Ned Yost estimated that Perez is about 3-4 weeks away from returning. If all goes well, he could return sometime before the All-Star break.

Getz originally suffered the injury last week, but he aggravated it during Tuesday's game. Johnny Giovotella and Irving Falu will share second base duties during his absence.

Yuniesky Betancourt (ankle) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Thursday at the Double-A level.
Betancourt has been out of commission since May 2 with an ankle sprain. It is fully healed by now and he should be ready to return to the bigs by the end of May.

Cain originally just had a left groin strain, but that has turned into a torn hip flexor. It's a really bad injury for a base stealer and he won't even start rehab work until next week. Speedster Jarrod Dyson projects to get most of the starts in center going forward. He's hitting .321 with two swipes in his first seven appearances of the season.

Jonathan Sanchez (biceps tendinitis) is heading to the Royals' spring training complex for rehab work.
He'll eventually progress to a minor league rehab assignment. Sanchez, who was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 8, seems doubtful to return before the end of May. He has posted a brutal 6.75 ERA and 18/22 K/BB ratio through six starts this season.

Dr. Lewis Yocum confirmed that Danny Duffy has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.
Yocum confirmed the initial diagnosis by Royals head physician Dr. Key. Duffy will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery in Los Angeles within the next two weeks and figures to miss the early part of the 2013 campaign. It's disappointing given the improvement he showed this season, but there's still plenty of promise here in the long-term.
