Brian Vickers tops the speed chart in the Happy Hour practice session for the Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway.
He ran a fast lap of 171.124 in the No. 20 Toyota Camry. No. 11 Elliott Sadler, No. 7 Regan Smith, No. 3 Austin Dillon and No. 6 Trevor Bayne rounded out the top five of the 42 cars out on the track. The No. 70, driven by Tony Raines, was the slowest in the final practice session.

Brian Vickers makes his second start in the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
He’ll drive Michael Waltrip Racing’s No. 55 Jet Edge Toyota on the Virginia half-mile track. The 29-year-old Thomasville, N.C. native finished 18th and eighth last season at Martinsville behind the wheel of the No. 55 Toyota Camry. Vickers will drive nine races in the No. 55 in 2013 including both races at Bristol, Martinsville and New Hampshire. He will also drive the No. 55 at Sonoma, Watkins Glen and Kentucky. He owns 15 starts at Martinsville with three top-10 finishes and has led 27 laps of competition.-Michael Waltrip Racing

Joe Gibbs Racing announces that Brian Vickers will take over behind the wheel of the No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup Series for the injured Denny Hamlin starting on April 13 at Texas Motor Speedway.
It was previously released that Mark Martin would handle the duties behind the wheel for the No. 11 JGR team while Denny Hamlin recovered from injury. Martin will drive the car in Martinsville, but Vickers will now take over the duties beginning in Texas. Said J.D. Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing. "We're real happy to have the opportunity to get Brian in our Cup cars and with him driving Nationwide for us we think we have some continuity there that is beneficial."

Brian Vickers returns to Bristol Motor Speedway where he made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut for Michael Waltrip Racing in 2012.
And what a debut it was. Vickers led 125 laps and finished fifth. His success continued throughout the season where he scored three top-five and five top-10 finishes in eight races for the Rodney Childers led No. 55 team. The 29-year-old’s nine-race schedule in 2013 includes: all Bristol, Martinsville, and Loudon races plus the Sonoma, Watkins Glen and Kentucky races. Vickers owns 16 starts at Bristol. He has a career-best finish of fourth which came in August of 2012. He has led 127 laps and has six top-15 finishes.-Michael Waltrip Racing
