To qualify for the All-Star Race, Aric Almirola and the No. 43 Smithfield Ford team will have to finish first or second in the Sprint Showdown 40-lap qualifier race.
He can also be voted in by the Sprint Fan Vote. Fans can go to www.nascar.com/SprintFanVote or NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile '13, where votes count twice, until May 18. Almirola has made two starts in his Sprint Cup career at Charlotte. He won the pole for the Coca-Cola 600 last May. In the fall event, he started 17th and finished 12th. Almirola also has seven Nationwide starts at the 1.5-mile track with an average finish of 13th and two truck starts with an average finish of eighth.-Breaking Limits

Aric Almirola and the No. 43 Smithfield Ford team are looking to make history this weekend at Darlington Raceway with a fifth consecutive top-10 finish.
If the team can finish in the top-10, it will mark the first time that the Petty-owned No. 43 has more than four consecutive top-10 finishes since Richard Petty posted seven consecutive top-10s in 1983. It will also mark the first time Richard Petty Motorsports has posted five consecutive top-10 finishes. Almirola made his Darlington debut last season with the No. 43 team, where he started in the 13th spot and finished 19th.-Breaking Limits

Heading to sponsor Smithfield's home track, Aric Almirola looks to tally his third consecutive top-10 finish for the first time in his Sprint Cup career.
The No. 43 Smithfield Ford team comes off a seventh and eighth-place finish in the last two races. Almirola has two Sprint Cup starts at Richmond, both last season, and has five Nationwide starts at the .75-mile track. He collected his best Richmond finish of seventh in the fall Nationwide race in 2011.-Breaking Limits

Returning for its first of six primary events, Eckrich, part of the John Morrell Food Group, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, will once again be featured on the hood and sides of the famed No. 43.
Eckrich will once again use the partnership with RPM and Operation Homefront to honor military veterans and their families. Almirola heads to Ft. Worth with four starts under his belt. Last fall, he started 14th and finished 15th with the No. 43 Eckrich Ford team.-Richard Petty Motorsports
