After a successful outing with the No. 51 team at Phoenix International Raceway, AJ Allmendinger will pair with Phoenix Racing again this week at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500.
He will pilot the Guy Roofing Chevrolet in his second Sprint Cup Series event of 2013. Allmendinger's first-ever Cup Series start came at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2007. This weekend will mark his 11th Cup race at the track. He's garnered four top-20s and one top-15, and started on the front row in one event. His best finish is 12th place, which he scored in 2011. Phoenix Racing scored its best Cup Series finish at Bristol last season. The team took the checkers in 18th place with Kurt Busch behind the wheel.-Breaking Limits

AJ Allmendinger is returning to Phoenix Racing to compete in the Subway Fresh Fit 500k at Phoenix International Raceway.
He'll be piloting the No. 51 Guy Roofing Chevrolet in his fifth Sprint Cup Series start with team. Allmendinger is no stranger to the "Desert Jewel." He has eight previous Cup Series starts at the one-mile oval and has driven to four top-15s and two top-10s. He has started on the front row three times, including one pole, which he captured in 2010.-Breaking Limits

AJ Allmendinger will test an IndyCar for Penske Racing at Sebring International Raceway.
If successful, he will make his open-wheel debut for Penske at Barber Motorsports Park on April 7. If everything goes according to plan and sponsorship can be acquired, he will also run at Long Beach in preparation for the Indianapolis 500. After working his way into the ride with Penske Racing's Sprint Cup team, Allmendinger failed a drug test administered at Kentucky on June 29 and was suspended from competition at Daytona on July 7. Upon completing NASCAR’s Road to Recovery, he was reinstated Sept. 18, but Penske Racing released him from the No. 22 team Aug. 1. Still, Penske never gave up on his driver. Not only did Allmendinger remain on the payroll for the remainder of the year, but Penske also called him on a weekly basis.-FOX Sports

AJ Allmendinger has an opportunity to initially run four NASCAR Sprint Cup races for Phoenix Racing as its driver roster starts to take shape.
While Regan Smith will kick off the season in the No. 51 Guy Roofing Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway, Allmendinger has been offered the chance to drive at Phoenix International Raceway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Auto Club Speedway and Martinsville Speedway. TAG Heuer will sponsor Austin Dillon in the car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.-FoxSports.com
