The Chinese club waived former Lakers forward Derrick Caracter to clear a spot for Diogu.

The Suns waived Ike Diogu and Solomon Jones on Wednesday.
The departure of Diogu and Jones bodes well for Luke Zeller and Diante Garrett to make the team. Diogu did have a good offseason and even played in the Olympics, but he's probably going to have to continue his basketball career overseas.

Suns sign F/C Ike Diogu to a non-guaranteed contract.
Diogu will be brought in for training camp as the Suns search for reinforcements up front. The former Arizona State star has had his career derailed by knee issues, but he's not giving up his NBA career without a fight.

Sidelined
Channing Frye (heart) said he's "95 percent positive" he'll be healthy enough to return to the NBA next season.
Frye has missed the entire season after doctors discovered an enlarged heart during a routine stress exam. Frye admitted there's a chance he may never play again, but he's thinking about joining the Suns on the road in March and April to get used to traveling again. The sweet-shooting big man can't work out but says he takes 200 shots every other day and uses golf and yoga to help keep himself somewhat in shape. Frye has two years left on his contract after this one.

Gortat was hoping to make a one-game cameo, but his conditioning simply isn't there and he doesn't have enough practice time to get right before the regular season finale.
