Impending restricted free agent D.J. Augustin has previously turned down an extension offer from the Bobcats.
Augustin says he wants to come back to the Bobcats, but it's unclear if those words will ring true. He certainly didn't mesh well with Kemba Walker and playing the two of them together doesn't look like a reasonable solution. After going 7-59, the Bobcats obviously need a major overhaul.

D.J. Augustin would like to re-sign with the Bobcats.
Charlotte reportedly floated Augustin in trade offers near the deadline, and the Bobcats have Kemba Walker waiting in the wings. "I love the city, the people and the organization," said Augustin. Those are some big words after a 7-59 season, and despite his desire to return, we're guessing the Bobcats will head into next season with Walker running the show.

D.J. Augustin (knee) was supposed to play five minutes but ended up logging 32 minutes in the Bobcats' historic 104-84 loss to the Knicks on Thursday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-15 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound and seven assists.
The Bobcats became the NBA's worst team ever by winning percentage in the nationally televised contest. You gotta give Augustin props for trying, but his teammates mailed this game in and that's inexcusable. Bismack Biyombo jogged around at the pace of a Sunday stroll and still managed to block five shots to go with his five points and three boards, Tyrus Thomas started and had nine points with a three and a block, Byron Mullens scored five points with six boards, D.J. White had 11 points with seven boards and a full line, Kemba Walker scored 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting with two threes, two steals, and four assists, and Gerald Henderson was effective with 21 points, seven boards, and four assists.

D.J. Augustin will start on Thursday against the Knicks, but his minutes will be limited by knee tendenitis.
We'll see if he gets pulled if the game is close since the Bobcats are trying to avoid becoming the NBA's worst team ever in terms of winning percentage. But on the whole, this is good news for Kemba Walker and bad news for Augustin's owners.

Eduardo Najera had surgery to repair a fractured frontal bone in his forehead on Saturday, and he is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Najera was fortunate to avoid any brain injuries, and he should be fine for next season.

Maggette ended his season with a bad Achilles' tendon, but apparently he'll also have knee surgery as well. He's already been mentioned as a candidate for the amnesty clause, and the oft-injured veteran won't shed that label with an offseason surgery.

Williams' year was a disappointment, and is accentuated by all the talk by Paul Silas about what a special player he would be.

Derrick Brown (ankle) will not play on Thursday against the Knicks, and Tyrus Thomas will start in his place.
Thomas is a deep league desperation play, at best, and look for D.J. White to get a few extra minutes. Matt Carroll could also be worth a look in deep leagues for his 3-point shooting. Otherwise, it's possible the Bobcats go with a small lineup in their attempt to avoid history, which would benefit Kemba Walker.
