Gerald Wallace scored 19 points on Saturday, his highest total since mid-December, but it wasn't enough to avoid a disappointing Game 7 loss at home to the Bulls.
Wallace, who scored double-digit points just 17 times all season, averaged 12.0 points in the first round. He didn't have a single FT attempt, steal or block tonight, and he grabbed two rebounds in 40 minutes, but at times his energy single-handedly kept the Nets in the game. He also had three 3-pointers and five assists in a shrug-worthy conclusion to a lousy season.

Gerald Wallace had a rare positive outing against the Bulls on Monday, shooting 5-of-8 from the field for 12 points with one board, three assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers.
This line looks like Gerald Wallace circa 2007 and he's been one of the bigger disappointing players for the Nets with his inconsistencies. He's under contract for the next two seasons, so he'll need to get his act together next season.

Gerald Wallace suffered an apparent left leg injury in the third quarter of Saturday's game in Chicago and stayed in the game.
He didn't see Joakim Noah's screen to his right and Wallace went down grabbing his left leg. He dealt with a bruised left knee this season and he's been banged up for most of the year. He looks to be OK.

Coach P.J. Carlesimo said he will not change his starting lineup ahead of Saturday's Game 4 against the Bulls.
The fact that Carlesimo admitted to even thinking about a lineup change is telling. His team is shooting 35 percent over the last two games, with offensive liabilities Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace taking a lot of the blame. "If we do some of the things that we normally do -- if we make some threes, if we finish in the paint, then we're okay and we can take advantage of other guys skill sets," Carlesimo said. "And not just say, 'to hell with it, let's just put an offensive team out there.' Because that'll get you in trouble where all of a sudden we're not as good defensively anymore."
