Amare Stoudemire fouled out of Wednesday's season-ending Game 5 loss to the Heat, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds and five turnovers in 32 minutes.
Give Amare some props for playing through the hand injury (fire extinguisher), but even if he would have been healthy, the Knicks didn't stand much of a chance in this series. As for Stoudemire's hand, it should be good to go by the start of next season.

Amare Stoudemire played well on Sunday despite his gruesome hand injury, scoring 20 points (8-of-13 FGs, 4-of-7 FTs) with 10 rebounds, one assist and four turnovers.
Amare could only drive with his right hand, and the injury caused him some trouble defending the post, but overall it was a very impressive showing from STAT. The Knicks could have used this play in the first three games of the series, but at least it provides a glimmer of optimism heading into Game 5 in Miami.

Amare Stoudemire (hand) will start Game 4 on Sunday, as the Knicks look to avoid a sweep on their home court.
It remains to be seen how much Amare can contribute with his hand swathed in bandages, and his presence won't matter if New York can't slow down Miami's offense. It will be interesting to see how the fans react -- his willingness to play through pain is commendable, but this is the second straight playoffs he's been needlessly injured (last year he hurt his back on a trick dunk during warmups).

Amare Stoudemire (hand) is officially listed as "doubtful, game-time decision" for Game 4 on Sunday.
Stoudemire wants to play out of respect for his teammates and Knicks fans, but it's unclear whether the medical staff will clear him to play. Even if he does suit up, he's unlikely to be very effective with a large bandage and padding wrapped around his hand.

When speaking about the recent extension given to head coach Mike Woodson, Knicks GM Glen Grunwald also said he "can't see a scenario where we don't keep [Jeremy] Lin."
The case to hear if Lin will be eligible to be re-signed under the "Bird Rights" won't be until mid-June, but it sounds like the Knicks plan on bringing him back no matter what. There will be several teams interested in Lin, as the Raptors, Trail Blazers, Mavericks, and even the Warriors have been mentioned as possible suitors this summer. The bottom line is that New York can match all offers for Lin and it looks like they will do just that.

Free agent Baron Davis underwent right knee surgery Thursday.
Davis, 33, is now facing 12 months of rehab after tearing his ACL, MCL and patella tendon. He's also dealt with back woes, weight problems and declining effectiveness over the last few seasons. Davis' NBA career is in jeopardy.

Shumpert's expected recovery time is 6-8 months as he suffered a torn ACL and torn meniscus. It's going to be a challenge for Shumpert to be at full strength by training camp.
