Mickael Pietrus played through a sore knee (that will eventually require surgery) and had eight points, two blocks and two 3-pointers in just 12 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Pietrus is in there to play defense, so don't be surprised if he doesn't hit double digits in scoring in the entire series. He shot it well tonight, hitting 3-of-5 shots and 2-of-3 3-pointers, after hitting 2-of-15 from downtown in the playoffs coming into tonight's game.

Mickael Pietrus said he will need arthroscopic knee surgery after the Celtics' playoff run ends.
Pietrus' knee woes limited him to just 42 games during the regular season and he's also been noticeably affected in the playoffs. The scope will clean out some tissue.

Mickael Pietrus has hit just 2-of-15 3-pointers in the playoffs, but he is concentrating on his defense.
"You know, the Boston Celtics, they never lead the league in scoring," Pietrus said. "They have 17 banners for a reason, they play defense. Play defense and do whatever it is to win the game." Pietrus will need to provide some sort of offensive spark off of the bench if Boston is going to enjoy a deep playoff push.

Mickael Pietrus' knee has begun to swell again, according to Doc Rivers.
For most of the season Pietrus battled swelling in his surgically-repaired knee, and he is also dealing with a lingering hamstring injury. He was a combined 4-of-15 from the field vs. the Hawks in the first round, and he was abysmal in 11 minutes on Saturday (zero statistics, 0-of-2 FGs). Consider him questionable for Game 2 on Monday.

Keyon Dooling (illness) did not practice on Friday and is questionable to play in Game 7 against the Sixers on Saturday.
Dooling would be in line for more minutes with Avery Bradley's (shoulder) surgery forcing Ray Allen into the starting five, but the veteran point guard is not a lock to play in Game 7 against Philly. We'll have an update on his status when one becomes available.

Avery Bradley (shoulder) will undergo surgery on Friday.
Bradley is expected to need four months of rehab after surgery, so he should be ready to go before next season begins. It's a brutal way for Bradley's season to end after he played through pain, and the Celtics will certainly miss his on-ball defense in the postseason. Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus will both be thrust into bigger roles with Bradley sidelined.
