Tom Brady completed 20-of-38 passes for 257 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while rushing once for a one-yard loss Sunday in the Patriots’ Week 6 win over the Jets.
Brady and the Pats got off to an extremely sluggish start, falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter. After having their first few drives stall out, New England finally got it going by scoring a pair of touchdowns to tie the game before halftime. Rather than settling for his usual assortment of quick-hitters and intermediate throws to running backs and slot receivers, Brady attacked the Jets deep with a number of long gains including a 42-yarder to Brandin Cooks. Both of his touchdown passes went to Rob Gronkowski, who dominated his matchup with rookie Jamal Adams. Brady’s interception, his second in as many weeks, came on a second-quarter deep ball intended for Phillip Dorsett. On the plus side, Brady’s protection was much better this week as he didn’t take a sack for the first time all season. He’ll be a top-tier option next week at home against the Falcons, the team he famously beat with a 25-point comeback in Super Bowl LI. Oct 15 - 5:48 PM
