Brett Favre will be a part of NFL Network's Super Bowl coverage.
It's the first we've heard of Favre in nearly a year. That shatters all previous records. However, if Favre does well Sunday, it's possible he'll sign on for a bigger role at the league's in-house network. Favre turns 43 in October.

The Packers plan to retire Brett Favre's No. 4 jersey "in a year or two," when it's meaningful to the retired quarterback.
It's easy to see why the Packers aren't rushing to retire the jersey. They will want to be 100 percent confident that Favre isn't going to attempt another comeback. Perhaps more importantly, it provides more time to soothe the hard feelings that developed between Favre and GM Ted Thompson. As a three-time MVP, holder of many NFL records, and future Hall of Famer, Favre is certainly deserving of the honor.

Brett Favre reiterated on 1340 The Fan in Lubbock, Texas on Monday that he is happy in retirement and has no plans to come back.
Favre, 42, was the subject of reckless rumors spread by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel last August that claimed he might quarterback the Dolphins. It never happened, and he drew no interest from any teams. "I was just burned out," Favre said, referring to 2010. "This season, being removed and having a bird’s eye view but not being involved was eye-opening because I didn’t miss it a bit."

Retired QB Brett Favre said in a Tuesday evening statement that he has no plans to attempt a comeback.
"In spite of reports about playing with various teams, I'm enjoying retirement with my family and have no plans to play football," Favre said. The denial comes one day after ESPN Chicago's Michael C. Wright reported Favre "would listen" if contacted by the Bears. The Bears quickly denied any interest. Although skepticism will continue to abound that the future Hall-of-Famer is actually retired, it would be shocking if he ever plays another down.

Vikings WR Greg Childs (torn patellar tendons) is up to 225 pounds.
Childs is listed at 217 on the team's official website, but what makes it so much more impressive is that he had dipped all the way to 180 last winter. Childs was recovering from double patellar tendon tears, and the pain medicine made him sick to his stomach. He's now lifting "crazy weight, like lineman weight" as his recovery is ongoing. Childs could be medically cleared for the start of training camp, but any contributions in 2013 would be a surprise.
