A glorious achievement for the Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler. Now that Driver is finally finished dancing on television, he can go about resolving his Packers' contract status. He's expected to remain in Green Bay, though not at his currently scheduled $2.6 million salary.

Donald Driver says he will be a Packer "for life."
He appears to mean it in more than a metaphorical sense. "My contract is not over with the Packers. I will be a Packer for life," Driver said. "You have to trust me, and you also have to trust the Packers that I will be a Packer for life." Driver insisted earlier this offseason that he would not retire if released, but appears to have adopted a more realistic view of his NFL future. The tea leaves are suggesting he'll remain with the Pack at a reduced salary.

The player rep for Donald Driver expects to work out a restructured contract with the Packers once the receiver is finished with
Dancing with the Stars

"The Packers have always wanted Donald back and we have always planned on him playing there," the agent told Profootballtalk. "I discussed deal structure with the team a while ago and we will work out the details once Donald returns to Green Bay." One teammate told ESPN Milwaukee that he knew Driver would have to take a pay cut to return to the Packers this season.

ESPN Milwaukee's Jason Wilde predicted on-air Friday that Donald Driver will remain with the Packers in 2012.
"I think he's gonna be back," said Wilde. "... He's willing to take a pay cut, I assume all the way down to the veteran minimum. ... I do think he'll be back." If so, Randall Cobb's re-draft league value figures to be blocked for one more season. Driver, 37, finished 2011 with 37 catches for 445 yards and six touchdowns. He failed to clear 75 receiving yards in all 16 appearances.

Packers team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie is "hopeful" that RB Alex Green (ACL surgery) will be ready for training camp.
Already running four days a week, Green has graduated to "a little bit" of cutting. He's stayed ahead of schedule in his rehab all offseason. "My speed is picking up daily," Green said. "I'm definitely excited with where I'm at."

Packers coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged that TE Andrew Quarless (ACL, MCL surgery) will be "challenged" to be ready for training camp.
Quarless is a candidate to open the season on the PUP list. "Andrew, just from a timetable standpoint, is a question mark," McCarthy admitted. The Packers' top three tight ends to open the year should be Jermichael Finley, Tom Crabtree, and D.J. Williams. Quarless could reenter the mix around midseason.
