CSN Philly refers to the Eagles' quarterback competition as "probably the most fluid position battle on the roster."
In a projected depth chart, beat writer Goeff Mosher lists "Nick Foles/Mike Vick" as the starter and "Mike Vick/Nick Foles" as the backup. Many Philly writers truly believe Foles is a realistic candidate to start despite his oddball fit in coach Chip Kelly's offense. Then again, we don't know exactly what kind of offense Kelly will run. Either way, Kelly vows it will play to his signal caller's strengths.

Michael Vick wants coach Chip Kelly to name a starting quarterback before training camp.
"Hopefully, Chip makes a decision before training camp ... so we can go out there as quarterbacks and just focus on this season and not answer questions about competition every day," Vick said. This comes on the same day Vick said splitting reps with Nick Foles is "tough." The soon-to-be 33-year-old is clearly annoyed by all of the competition talk. (Aren't we all?) But we wouldn't expect Kelly to declare a winner anytime soon. Local beat writers have suggested Foles has been the more accurate passer in OTAs and minicamp.

Coach Chip Kelly has asked for a moratorium on quarterback depth chart questions.
Michael Vick and Nick Foles have rotated pretty evenly throughout OTAs and this week's mandatory minicamp. Kelly is tired of answering questions in June about who his starter will be come September. Vick appears to have his nose in front, but he's going to have to earn it at training camp.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, it's been a "rare occurrence" for Eagles' quarterbacks to take snaps under center in OTAs.
It's just the latest hint that Chip Kelly's offense is going to be almost entirely shotgun-based. That's commonplace in the Pac 12 conference Kelly just left, but has a spotty history of success in the NFL, most recently with the Panthers. For better or worse, Kelly appears to be bringing his revolutionary college offense to the pros more or less whole cloth.

Eagles TE/H-back James Casey underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean out loose cartilage in his right knee.
Casey, who signed a three-year, $12M contract in March, will miss the rest of spring workouts. He is expected to be ready for training camp. It's a setback for a player trying to learn Chip Kelly's offense and competing for snaps with both Brent Celek and rookie Zach Ertz. Casey was barely on the TE2 radar anyway.
