Bucs agreed to terms with Vincent Jackson a five-year, $55.555 million contract, including $26 million guaranteed.
Jackson will earn $26 million over the first two years and $36 million over the next three, topping Santonio Holmes' $24 million guaranteed from last year. The Bucs jumped in feet-first, causing V-Jax's other suitors to fall by the wayside. Jackson will immediately slot in as the No. 1 receiver in Tampa, sending Mike Williams to No. 2 and Arrelious Benn to a situational role. Expect Jackson's fantasy stock to decline with a quarterback downgrade and coach Greg Schiano's traditionally run-heavy offensive attack.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, free agent Vincent Jackson to the Bucs is "close to a done deal."
Flush with salary cap space, the Bucs went strong after V-Jax while the Redskins and Rams turned to Pierre Garcon. Per NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, other teams are already moving on, realizing they can't compete with the Bucs. The only legit No. 1 receiver on the market, Jackson would be a boon for Josh Freeman's fantasy value.

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports that Vincent Jackson will receive interest from the Bucs, Bears, and Bills once free agency opens on Tuesday.
The Redskins' cap penalty may have eliminated them from the Jackson mix. While Tampa Bay and Chicago are the early favorites for V-Jax, the Bills are a bit of a dark horse here. Profootballtalk.com reported Sunday night that Buffalo is $30.8 million under the cap, giving them the sixth most in the league if you don't include Washington. The Bills are going to make a run at Jackson.

The Chicago Sun Times reports that the Bucs have the "inside track" on signing free agent Vincent Jackson.
This basically disputes a Sunday night Union-Tribune San Diego report that the Redskins and Bears had emerged as the teams likely to make the most aggressive runs at Jackson. The U-T San Diego did mention the Bucs as a possible pursuer of Jackson, but not as a favorite. Expect some reports to conflict over the next few days as player agents spread word in attempts to increase their clients' markets. The Sun Times' Sean Jensen suggests the Bears may be "among the serious suitors who might come up short."
