Broncos released RB LenDale White.
White had been in and out of practice with numerous nagging injuries, which is common for players trying to come back from torn Achilles' tendons. The 45th overall pick in the 2006 draft, White's career has bottomed out as an injury-plagued running back unable to outlast undrafted rookies like C.J. Gable and Brandon Minor. White hasn't played a snap since Week 17 of 2009.

LenDale White (Achilles) has participated in some of the Broncos' player-organized workouts this offseason, but not at full speed.
Good news for White, but he remains very unlikely to be a part of the Broncos' 2011 plans. There's a good chance he will never be the same after rupturing his right Achilles last August.

LenDale White is now running, eight months after surgery to repair his ruptured right Achilles' tendon.
White is still not ready for "explosive" drills, though. He was roster fodder last summer, prior to the injury, so it's hard to like his chances of contributing in 2011. We're not aware of any NFL running back
successfully
recapturing pre-injury form in the case of a ruptured Achilles. The new Broncos regime figures cut ties as soon as the lockout is lifted.

White will want to compare notes with new Broncos back Andre Brown, who underwent the procedure while with the Giants last summer. In the past, an Achilles' tear has essentially ended a running back's career.

Coach John Fox indicated the Broncos are being intentionally cautious with Knowshon Moreno in his recovery from an offseason stem-cell procedure on his right knee.
The surgery, which is believed to have taken place either in late January or early February, involved the removal of stem cells from Moreno's pelvis. They were then inserted into his right knee. Four months later, he still can't practice. "He's coming along," Fox said. "We're going to be very cautious. When the doctors give him the full-go go-ahead, he'll be doing everything."

Broncos TE Joel Dreessen underwent arthroscopic surgery to "clean up" his knee.
Coach John Fox termed it "just a little knee procedure, scope, done, just to clean it up." Fox added this would be a good opportunity for backup tight end Julius Thomas, who missed most of his first two seasons with injuries, to get quality reps. Dreessen is expected to return for training camp. He is Denver's primary in-line and blocking tight end, ahead of "move" TE Jacob Tamme.
