It's amazing he was back out there after leaving the Jets' preseason opener on a backboard. Schable continues his long shot bid for a roster spot.

Jets FB/TE A.J. Schable was released from the Cleveland Clinic Friday after leaving Thursday night's preseason game on a stretcher.
Schable has movement of his arms and legs, which is a very promising sign.

He was down for several minutes after getting hurt while covering a kickoff. Schable was trying to make the Jets as a versatile backup.

Jets signed TE A.J. Schable, formerly of the Eagles.
The Jets announced Schable as a tight end, even though he's played primarily fullback and defensive end in the league. If Schable does make the Jets -- a big long shot -- he'd focus on special teams.

Percy Harvin said he'll play "a little bit" of running back this season.
During four seasons with the Vikings, Harvin averaged 1.9 carries per game. If that number rises in Seattle, it won't be by much. Although Harvin is more than capable of running the read option with Russell Wilson, the Seahawks need him in the slot. They're stacked at running back with Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin and rookie Christine Michael.

The Seattle Times doesn't envision the Seahawks cutting TE Zach Miller.
We don't, either. Miller has a mammoth cap number for 2013 as he's due a $6.8 million salary and a $3 million roster bonus, but he was finally starting to come on in the latter stages of the 2012 season, capping it off with an eight-catch, 142-yard, one-score Divisional Round playoff game outburst against the Falcons. He should be in line for a bigger role on offense this coming season.
