The Tacoma News Tribune considers Sidney Rice a No. 1 receiver in the NFL even though "he isn't targeted like one."
It's a reasonable assessment. Despite finally playing in all 16 games this year, Rice saw just 80 targets to rank 73rd in the league, behind the likes of Chris Givens, Ben Watson, and Nate Washington. Rice still came up with a 50/748/7 line, but the Seahawks' run-heavy scheme puts a damper on his 2013 outlook.

Sidney Rice (knee) was spotted on crutches Monday.
There's no sign that Rice is dealing with a serious injury or needs surgery, but we can add it to the list of nagging issues that bothered him this season. Despite playing in all 16 games for just the second time in his six-year career and first time since 2009, he was rarely operating at 100 percent. Rice won't be 27 until September, but his accumulation of injuries and the Seahawks' run-heavy offense are concerns heading into 2013.

Sidney Rice caught four passes for 60 yards in Sunday's Divisional round loss at Atlanta.
Rice tied Zach Miller with a team-high nine targets, but had to contend with Asante Samuel's sticky coverage. Russell Wilson's nominal No. 1 receiver finished the season 29th in fantasy points, though his most impressive accomplishment was making it through 18 games while dealing with knee, foot, and concussion injuries. Rice is still only 26 years old. In order to realize his fantasy potential, he's going to need Seattle to open up its passing game in 2013.

The one catch was a toe-dragging sideline beauty that set up Steven Hauschka's first field goal. Rice was targeted just four times on a day when the Seahawks enjoyed a lot more success on the ground. He has another tough matchup next week against Asante Samuel and the Falcons.

Percy Harvin said he'll play "a little bit" of running back this season.
During four seasons with the Vikings, Harvin averaged 1.9 carries per game. If that number rises in Seattle, it won't be by much. Although Harvin is more than capable of running the read option with Russell Wilson, the Seahawks need him in the slot. They're stacked at running back with Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin and rookie Christine Michael.

The Seattle Times doesn't envision the Seahawks cutting TE Zach Miller.
We don't, either. Miller has a mammoth cap number for 2013 as he's due a $6.8 million salary and a $3 million roster bonus, but he was finally starting to come on in the latter stages of the 2012 season, capping it off with an eight-catch, 142-yard, one-score Divisional Round playoff game outburst against the Falcons. He should be in line for a bigger role on offense this coming season.
