Concerns over Podlesh's left injury have been squashed. The Bears released insurance policy Ryan Quigley Monday.

The Bears are "very concerned" about the left hip injury P Adam Podlesh suffered in Saturday's preseason game.
The injury is to Podlesh's plant leg, but has him iffy for Week 1. Podlesh's net punting average of 40.4 yards was sixth in the NFL in 2011. The Bears will go with undrafted rookie Ryan Quigley or a veteran free agent if Podlesh isn't ready for the regular season.

Bears agreed to terms with P Adam Podlesh on a five-year contract.
Re-signing Podlesh was one of the Jaguars' top priorities in free agency, but they lost him when Chicago's offer was "significantly" higher. One of the top young punters in football, the 28-year-old has legit 4.4 speed that could come in handy for fakes, and he finished top-four in the NFL in net average last season. With the Bears, Podlesh should be a big upgrade on Brad Maynard.

Jaguars GM Gene Smith confirmed that re-signing free agent P Adam Podlesh is a "high priority" this week.
The Jags can negotiate with Podlesh all week and lock him up long term as soon as Friday night. They should expect competition, however. Podlesh is one of the more athletic punters in football and set a franchise record with a 39.2 net average last season. There are lots of teams with uncertainty at punter.

Brandon Marshall (hip surgery) is not participating in this week's OTAs, as expected.
Marshall underwent a scope in January and is not quite at 100 percent yet. Although it's his third procedure on the troublesome joint, no one around the Bears appears concerned. Marshall has missed just five games in his seven-year career and is coming off a sparkling 118/1508/11 campaign.
