Dolphins signed LB Jason Trusnik to a two-year, $2.17 million extension in November.
The deal included a $600,000 signing bonus. Trusnik, a reserve linebacker and special teams player, is now under contract through the 2014 season. The 28-year-old has appeared in all 15 games this season, starting two games at strong-side linebacker, and has amassed 21 tackles.

Dolphins agreed to terms with LB Jason Trusnik on a two-year contract.
The Browns didn't bother to tender Trusnik after he plummeted on the depth chart last season, but he has more value in a 3-4 scheme. Mostly a special teamer, the 27-year-old has experience at both inside and outside 'backer. With just 3.5 carer sacks in five seasons, however, Trusnik won't bring much pass rush.

The Browns failed to tender LB Jason Trusnik before the lockout, meaning he'll be an unrestricted free agent.
They didn't deem him a fit for the new 4-3. Trusnik, 27, was a special teamer last year until injuries struck and forced him into five late-season starts. 2009 was his career year, with Trusnik posting 2.5 sacks and 56 tackles in ten more starts. He should find work as a versatile 3-4 inside/outside 'backer.

Browns coach Eric Mangini revealed that LB Jason Trusnik sustained a concussion against the Ravens last week.
The backup linebacker and special teams ace is expected to return to practice on Friday, along with defensive linemen Shaun Rogers, Kenyon Coleman, and Robaire Smith.

Daniel Thomas believes he's a legitimate contender for the Dolphins' starting running back job.
Thomas must not be watching much of his own film. "I don’t know why (Lamar Miller) would have the inside track," Thomas said incredulously Tuesday. "It’s an open competition. Everybody has a fair shot. The best player is going to get the job. Nobody has a leg up." Thomas does admit he's been "inconsistent" since being the No. 62 overall pick of the 2011 draft. All signs suggest the Dolphins want and expect Miller to be their No. 1 back.
