Ravens S Eric Weddle says Joe Flacco has looked good early in the offseason program.
Flacco was recovering from knee surgery this time last year, and while the injury did not force him to miss any games, he did post some of the worst efficiency numbers of his career. Now healthy, Weddle expects Flacco to be "10 times better," and Flacco thinks getting in work this early in the offseason will give him "a better foundation." Hopefully, it will also allow him to be more aggressive and push the ball down the field.

Joe Flacco said he is happy the Ravens retained OC Marty Mornhinweg.
Flacco said the offense was too "conservative" in November, but it does not sound like he puts all of the blame at Mornhinweg's feet. "I think the other thing you have to realize is that a lot of what we’ve been doing isn’t necessarily his offense," Flacco said. "I think this offseason will be a big point for him to get a lot of the stuff that he’s comfortable running. He and I can work through that stuff together. I think that’s the biggest thing." The Ravens need to improve the running game and find playmakers which allow them to be more aggressive in the passing game, but Flacco also needs to play better for the offense to take a step forward.

ESPN
Speaking about Joe Flacco on Tuesday, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said "we need more out of Joe."
"I think Joe would agree with that," Bisciotti helpfully added. Coming back from a torn ACL, Flacco actually threw for a career-high 4,317 yards in 2016, but only because he was forced to dial up an absurd 672 attempts. That's not Ravens football. Flacco struggled mightily to make big plays, and averaged a woeful 6.42 yards per attempt. The first year back from a torn ACL can be tough for a quarterback — even Tom Brady wasn't quite himself in 2009 — but days shy of his 32nd birthday, Flacco will be on the spot to be better next season.
Jan 10 - 1:48 PM
Source:
Jamison Hensley on Twitter
Joe Flacco completed 32-of-49 passes for 267 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in the Ravens' Week 17 loss to the Bengals.
It was a performance typical of Flacco's throughout his return-from-ACL campaign, averaging a low yards per attempt and failing to make big plays. Flacco's age-31 season ends with a 20:15 TD-to-INT ratio. The Ravens oddly utilized a short-based timing-and-rhythm passing game, rarely challenging deep. Flacco will return as a low-end QB2 in 2017. After firing OC Marc Trestman during the year, the Ravens are also expected to fire interim OC Marty Mornhinweg, forcing Flacco to learn yet another offensive system.

GM Ozzie Newsome insists the Ravens would have signed Danny Woodhead regardless of Kenneth Dixon's four-game PED suspension.
Newsome admitted Dixon's ban created a greater sense of urgency, but landing Woodhead was the plan all along. "He still would have been a big part of our conversation," said Newsome. "We still would have signed him." In other words, the Ravens envision Woodhead as an important piece of their offense and not just a Band-Aid for when Dixon is out. Fantasy owners can expect Woodhead to dominate passing-down chances with Terrance West handling most of the early-down and short-yardage work early in the season.

Kenneth Dixon
Suspended
NFL suspended Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon four games for violating the league's policy on PEDs.
It's a disappointing misstep for a player who showed promise as a rookie last season. With Dixon sidelined for the first four games, we'd expect the Ravens to employ a backfield committee featuring Terrance West and newly-signed pass-catcher Danny Woodhead. Dixon racked up 382 rushing yards on 88 attempts last season with most of those carries coming in the second half of the year.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said TE Ben Watson (Achilles') is ahead of schedule.
Watson tore his Achilles' last August. If he is ahead of schedule, Watson should be ready for training camp, but it will not be surprising if a 36-year-old struggles in his return from a serious injury. It is possible Watson and Dennis Pitta are competing for one roster spot.

Ravens RG Marshal Yanda underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum this offseason.
He is expected to miss the offseason program, but coach John Harbaugh said Yanda will be ready for training camp. Yanda was bothered by the injury most of last season, but he remained one of the best guards in the league. Baltimore has serious questions around Yanda on the offensive line, but his presence should help stabilize the situation.
