Jets backup QB Erik Ainge has decided to retire from football.
Ainge cited January foot surgery and a recent diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder as the primary reasons. The 2008 fifth-rounder said walking away from the game "isn't the next step I wanted, but it's the hand I'm dealt."
