The Giants declined to tender Torain a contract on Monday, but they've brought him back for the league minimum. He's just a camp body.

Giants declined to tender RB Ryan Torain, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Torain is still only 26, but persistent injuries have sapped his burst and he's likely not long for the league. In two appearances with the G-Men last year, Torain didn't earn a carry. He
might
get a shot in someone's camp.

Giants agreed to terms with RB Ryan Torain.
Torain has been out of the league since the Redskins cut him on the heels of a 3.4 YPC average last December. He's a power back similar to Andre Brown while Kregg Lumpkin is a superior receiver and special teamer. Torain is the better bet to see carries as the third back in the Giants committee, but he's not yet on the fantasy radar. S Selvish Capers was waived in a corresponding move.

The Giants are expected to sign free agent RB Ryan Torain "at some point in the near future."
Torain was bypassed in favor of Kregg Lumpkin Tuesday, but it sounds like the Giants liked what they saw from both players. Torain would only run into fantasy value if Ahmad Bradshaw and David Wilson both go down with injuries.

"I don't really negotiate my contract in the media," said Nicks. "Let my agent do that. I just play football." The 2009 first-round pick is entering a contract year. The Giants are highly unlikely to let Nicks walk, but his history of leg injuries could compel them to adopt a deliberate pace in talks. Nicks would be a strong candidate for the franchise tag if no long-term deal is reached.
