Redskins DC Jim Haslett allegedly recently revealed the team's offseason quarterback plans to a fan writer for Redskins blog HogsHaven.com.
Writer "Rodskins" says he ran into Haslett at a club volleyball tournament, where Haslett allegedly said Washington is not interested in free agent Matt Flynn and is "seriously looking at acquiring" Peyton Manning. He also revealed (allegedly, of course) that the 'Skins are "very disappointed" in this year's crop of draft-eligible quarterbacks aside from Stanford's Andrew Luck and Baylor's Robert Griffin III, and are "strongly considering" making a play for the Rams' No. 2 overall pick. Predictably, Haslett has vehemently denied spilling the beans on the Redskins' plans. Never known as the league's most cerebral coach, it's entirely possible he let his guard down around a fan he should not have.

Speaking to SI.com's Peter King, one unnamed NFL general manager described free agent Matt Flynn as "the most dangerous player in free agency."
He's only made two career starts. "Flynn's the most dangerous player in free agency," the GM said. "The Packers need two teams to compete for him. If not, he's not going to get anything close to real value for him. I think it's too risky to franchise him. His resume's just not that strong." King still expects Flynn to be "extremely temping" for the QB-needy Dolphins and Seahawks.

Dolphins OC Mike Sherman was noncommittal when asked if the offense would more closely resemble his approach at Texas A&M or coach Joe Philbin's offense in Green Bay.
Both offenses share West Coast roots, but there are differences between the two. If the offense does end up veering toward Sherman's scheme, it could conceivably lead the Dolphins to favor Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill over free agent Matt Flynn -- in the event they swing and miss on Peyton Manning.

According to the Miami Herald, free agent Matt Flynn will be the Dolphins' No. 2 option if they fail to land Peyton Manning this offseason.
The Dolphins reportedly envision Manning as their Joe Montana, capable of "winning games, selling tickets, and becoming relevant again." Flynn would be a more proactive acquisition if the Fins were focusing on the long term, but owner Stephen Ross is hell-bent on the immediacy of Manning. If Ross' "infatuation" with pursuing Manning ends anything like his 2011 pursuit of Jim Harbaugh, the Dolphins could conceivably miss out on Flynn, too.

Packers rookie RB Alex Green's season-ending left knee injury has been confirmed as a torn ACL.
Green will undergo surgery on November 16, 2011. The injury could throw a wrench into the Packers' 2012 backfield plans, as Green was expected to take on a more significant role with Ryan Grant entering free agency. This would seem to increase James Starks' chances of emerging as a clear-cut feature back next season, though a tailback addition can't be ruled out.

Packers FB John Kuhn has been diagnosed with an "MCL injury," and will not require surgery.
It's the best possible news for the would-be Pro Bowler, and means he should be back to 100 percent well before training camp. Kuhn signed a three-year, $7.5 million contract in July before leading the Packers in rushing TDs this season.

Greg Jennings (rib contusion) is expected to participate in the Pro Bowl.
"It's better than we thought initially after the game, so that's good news," coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. It's still possible Jennings will ultimately skip the January 29 exhibition game, but it's clear the injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Giants isn't a long-term concern. Coming off a campaign where he made 67 catches for 949 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games, Jennings will make $3.9 million in the final season of a four-year contract in 2012.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless (torn ACL, injured reserve) thinks there's a "chance" he'll be able to play in 2012.
Quarless blew out his right knee on December 4, but couldn't undergo surgery until last Monday as he waited for the swelling to go down. If the Packers believe there's a chance he can contribute later in the 2012 season, he'll begin the year on the PUP list. Quarless was held to three catches in 10 games this season after making 21 grabs in the absence of Jermichael Finley in 2010.
