Free agent S Husain Abdullah (concussions) has reportedly made it clear to the Vikings that he can and will play this season.
Abdullah briefly considered retirement before gaining medical clearance in late January. He's still weighing his options after receiving an offer from the Vikings a month ago.

The Vikings still hope to re-sign both S Husain Abdullah and LB E.J. Henderson.
Abdullah has reportedly been mulling over an offer from the Vikings for, at least, a few days now. ESPN 1500 Twin Cities' Tom Pelissero suggests that Abdullah has a much better chance of returning than Henderson, as the Vikings are looking to rebuild the middle of their defense this offseason.

Free agent SS Husain Abdullah is "mulling over" a contract offer from the Vikings.
Abdullah was having a solid season in 2011 before his second concussion in four years sent him to injured reserve in Week 13. He has been cleared to resume playing, however. The Vikings are thin at safety behind Jamarca Sanford.

Free agent SS Husain Abdullah (concussion) has gained clearance to continue his football career after visiting two specialists last week.
Abdullah had contemplated retirement after landing on injured reserve in late November due to his fourth concussion in two years. Specialists assured him the latest concussion was not "career-burdening." Coming off his best season at age 26, Abdullah has expressed interest in returning to Minnesota.

Adrian Peterson (ACL, MCL, meniscus surgery) believes he's "50-50" to be participate in training camp.
"I feel like I will be able to get out there and you call a run play or whatever, I'll be able to go through practice. That's how I feel. That's my mindset," said Peterson. "But I'm going to follow the protocol. Whatever the Vikings and their staff want me to do, then I'm gonna do that; but I'm not going to hinder myself. I'm going to let those guys know how I feel."

Percy Harvin's minor shoulder surgery has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, April 24.
The procedure will end up being delayed two weeks due to a family emergency, but Harvin is still expected to be ready for OTAs that begin May 29. The estimated recovery period after Harvin gets bone spurs cleaned out is three weeks.

According to the National Football Post, one NFL team thinks Vikings WR Jerome Simpson would be making $5 million a year if not for his fall arrest.
He ended up accepting a one-year, $2 million prove-it deal. $5 million is optimistic for Simpson, but he's reportedly not perceived as a "bad kid" despite being arrested for having 2.5 pounds of marijuana mailed to his house in September. Some teams do think highly of Simpson's ability, so a strong 2012 season could earn him a big pay raise next offseason.
