Rams re-signed FB Brit Miller.
Steven Jackson's lead blocker each of the past two seasons, Miller missed the final four games of 2011 after landing on injured reserve with an unspecified knee injury. He tore his ACL in 2010. Miller's health history makes it unlikely the Rams will enter camp with just one fullback.

Rams placed FB Brit Miller on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.
Bad news for a player who ended 2010 on injured reserve with a torn ACL. Steven Jackson's lead blocker had been active for 12 of 13 games this season, carrying the ball five times for 14 yards. Although he's still just 25 years old, two major knee injuries in two seasons don't bode well for Miller's future.

Rams FB Brit Miller has just begun doing change-of-direction work five months removed from surgery on his torn right ACL.
"That's kind of the final phase of the rehab on ACLs," he said. "I hope to get a full season this year, really prove what I can do at fullback." Miller was a linebacker at Illinois before changing positions in the NFL. Coming off a major injury, he's entering an offense that doesn't utilize fullbacks much.

Rams placed FB Brit Miller on injured reserve with a torn right ACL, ending his season.
Miller had nine special teams tackles and started the last two games at fullback before blowing out his knee. The Rams are likely to re-elevate Mike Karney to starting status with Miller out, or they could possibly use tight end Michael Hoomanawanui (ankle) in a hybrid role if he's ready this weekend.

Suspended
NFL suspended Rams rookie WR Austin Pettis four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Barring a successful appeal, the Rams' third-round pick will be suspended for the final two games of this season and the first two of 2012. St. Louis' starting slot receiver since Greg Salas went down Week 9, Pettis has averaged just 2.6 catches for 27.6 yards in six games. St. Louis doesn't have an obvious candidate to man the slot in Weeks 16 and 17, but it's possible KR Nick Miller could get a look. With both Danny Amendola and Salas expected to be 100 percent healthy for 2012 training camp, there's little reason to hold onto Pettis in dynasty leagues.

Hoomanawanui suffered the injury in mid-November. Assuming he takes the normal recovery path, he should be getting close to 100 percent just as training camp opens.
