Dolphins placed LB Mike Rivera on injured reserve.
Rivera was waived/injured on Tuesday, and passed through waivers unclaimed. A third-year undrafted free agent out of Kansas, Rivera has appeared in just three career games.

Dolphins signed LB Mike Rivera and waived OG Ray Feinga.
Rivera had spent time in the Miami the past two years before landing in New England this summer. His biggest contribution will come on special teams.

Dolphins waived/injured LB Mike Rivera.
An undrafted free agent last year, Rivera was signed to the Dolphins' practice squad in December. He notched three tackles in Miami's preseason opener, but was held off the statsheet against the Panthers last week.

The Patriots have tweaked Julian Edelman's contract, converting the majority of his workout bonus to a roster bonus.
Edelman is missing time during the offseason workout program and OTAs due to a re-aggravation of the injury he suffered to his right foot at the end of last season. His status for the beginning of camp is also in question. Edelman is not a lock to make the Patriots' 53-man roster.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots "(don't) know" how serious Rob Gronkowski's back injury is.
"I wish I knew as much as you'd like me to know," were the words of owner Robert Kraft. Rapoport believes the Pats should consider placing Gronk on the reserve/PUP list, which would hold him out for the first six games of the season. Depending on how Gronk's expected back operation goes, they may not have a choice.

ESPN Boston reports that "word is" Aaron Hernandez (shoulder) can expect a four-month recovery period.
Hernandez underwent a "minor scope" almost three weeks ago, and he is not expected to participate in OTAs or minicamp. It's possible he could even open training camp on the PUP list. There remains plenty of time for Hernandez to be ready for Week 1. The Patriots will likely bring him along slowly.
