Steelers NT/DE Al Woods has been taking reps with the second-team in OTAs.
The Steelers invested a fourth-round pick in Alameda Ta'amu a year ago with the hope he would start, or at least be part of a rotation at nose tackle. Instead, the team has already named Steve McLendon their starter, while moving Woods to second on the depth chart. Woods also has the versatility to play defensive end in Pittsburgh's 3-4 scheme. Ta'amu is on notice.

Woods was active just twice for the Seahawks this season, tallying two tackles. His snaps figure to be extremely limited in Pittsburgh.

A fourth-round pick by the Saints in 2010, Woods had just two tackles in two games with Seattle.

Seahawks claimed DT Al Woods off waivers from the Buccaneers.
A talented underachiever at LSU, Woods recorded 17 tackles in nine games as a rookie last season. He'll compete with Landon Cohen to be Seattle's fourth defensive tackle behind Brandon Mebane, Alan Branch, and Clint McDonald.

Ben Roethlisberger (knee) has resumed a throwing program.
Roethlisberger has been throwing to receivers on the practice field and said that he "could play Sunday" if it were the regular season. He continues to progress ahead of schedule after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last week. Roethlisberger remains on track to be 100 percent for training camp.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, there's a "strong possibility" Heath Miller (ACL, MCL, PCL surgery) won't be ready for Week 1.
In this scenario, blocker Matt Spaeth would be Pittsburgh's starting tight end. The Trib-Review calls Miller "out indefinitely," despite previous optimism he'd be ready for the opener. He didn't participate in any portions of OTAs. Miller suffered the three-ligament knee tear on December 23 and had reconstructive surgery on January 2. He should be viewed as a TE2 only in fantasy drafts.
