Raiders signed TE Jeron Mastrud, formerly of the Dolphins.
Mastrud, 25, appeared in 14 games with Miami last season, playing 100 snaps. He wasn't targeted in the passing game and is purely a blocker. The Raiders also claimed WR Andre Holmes off waivers from the Patriots. To make room, Oakland released TE Mickey Shuler and DB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.

Dolphins signed TE Jeron Mastrud from their practice squad.
Mastrud, Kansas State's all-time leader in tight end receptions, had short stints on the practice squad of the Bucs and Pats as well. He'll back up Anthony Fasano.

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) says his foot is 100 percent healed.
Ford suffered Lisfranc injuries in each of the past two seasons, but finally appears to be 100 percent. The explosive receiver has a career 17.0 YPR average, and anticipates being used on returns this season in addition to being one of the team's top pass catchers. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, it will be important for Ford to show he can remain healthy.

New Raiders KR Josh Cribbs (meniscus surgery) says he'll be ready "when it’s time to play football."
Cribbs called Jets GM John Idzik's observation that his knee "(wasn't) quite there yet" a "negotiation tactic" before admitting he might not be ready to practice for over a month. Regardless, Cribbs should be ready well in advance of Week 1, and is slotted in as the Raiders' primary return man.
