Giants re-signed exclusive rights free agent C/G Jim Cordle to a one-year, $555,000 contract.
Cordle, 25, appeared in all 16 games last season, playing 49 snaps on offense as a reserve lineman. He figures to back up David Baas at center again in 2013.

Giants signed C Jim Cordle from their practice squad.
Cordle is getting the call for depth purposes with David Baas nursing a stinger injury this week. Per the New York Daily News, Baas' is in doubt for this week, but the injury is not believed to be long-term.

Cordle was a three-year starter at Ohio State, but NFL scouts didn't deem him to have the requisite athletic tools. He went undrafted in April.

Hakeem Nicks isn't commenting on contract talks.
"I don't really negotiate my contract in the media," said Nicks. "Let my agent do that. I just play football." The 2009 first-round pick is entering a contract year. The Giants are highly unlikely to let Nicks walk, but his history of leg injuries could compel them to adopt a deliberate pace in talks. Nicks would be a strong candidate for the franchise tag if no long-term deal is reached.
