Rams WR Greg Salas (fractured fibula) is participating in OTAs.
Salas received medical clearance and appears to be fully healed six months after fracturing his left fibula. Though it's not saying much, Salas showed more promise than any Rams receiver in 2011, playing inside and out and catching 27 passes in six games. He could push Chris Givens for a starting job in camp.

Rams placed WR Greg Salas on injured reserve with a fractured left fibula, ending his season.
He'll have surgery on Thursday, November 10 to repair the fractured leg as well as an operation on his left ankle. With 22 receptions in his last four games, Salas was putting a stranglehold on the slot job prior to the injury. The 2011 fourth-rounder should be healthy before training camp, leaving him with a good chance to nail down a roster spot next year. Salas has better run-after-catch ability than Danny Amendola (triceps), who is a restricted free agent in 2012.

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo confirmed at his Monday press conference that WR Greg Salas (broken leg) is done for the season.
Austin Pettis, who racked up three catches in just seven minutes after Salas went down Sunday, is the heavy favorite to take his place in the slot. It will complicate things, however, if Mark Clayton (Achilles, knee) comes off the PUP list before Wednesday's deadline. Regardless, Pettis is the better bet to make an impact in Week 10, and is worth a flier in PPR leagues.

Rams WR Greg Salas is done for the rest of the season with a fractured left fibula.
The injury happened late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to Arizona. Salas was just coming into his own after a miserable start to his rookie season, having overtaken fellow rookie Austin Pettis for St. Louis' primary slot receiver job. Pettis will likely now move into the role, giving him some appeal in PPR leagues. Sam Bradford loves checking down into the slot, and Salas had 12 receptions in his last two games. The injury should not be a long-term concern, which is the best news for Salas.

Suspended
NFL suspended Rams rookie WR Austin Pettis four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Barring a successful appeal, the Rams' third-round pick will be suspended for the final two games of this season and the first two of 2012. St. Louis' starting slot receiver since Greg Salas went down Week 9, Pettis has averaged just 2.6 catches for 27.6 yards in six games. St. Louis doesn't have an obvious candidate to man the slot in Weeks 16 and 17, but it's possible KR Nick Miller could get a look. With both Danny Amendola and Salas expected to be 100 percent healthy for 2012 training camp, there's little reason to hold onto Pettis in dynasty leagues.

Hoomanawanui suffered the injury in mid-November. Assuming he takes the normal recovery path, he should be getting close to 100 percent just as training camp opens.
