The Denver Post reports the Broncos made Charles Woodson a one-year offer worth a maximum of $3.7 million through "reachable incentives."
Woodson's Raiders deal is worth a max of $4.3 million, though it's unknown how "reachable" the incentives are. He'll receive a base value of $1.8 million, including a $700,000 signing bonus. Unless the Broncos' base offer was dramatically lower, it's definitely surprising Woodson chose the cellar-dwelling Raiders over Denver based on a theoretical extra $600,000. Money talks.

Raiders agreed to terms with DB Charles Woodson on a one-year, $1.8 million contract.
The deal includes a $700,000 signing bonus, and is worth a "maximum" of $4.3 million, likely through hard-to-achieve incentives. Woodson is returning to the team that made him the No. 4 pick of the 1998 draft. Woodson spent the first eight years of his career in Oakland before defecting to Green Bay. He's chosen the Raiders over the Broncos despite the fact that Denver is on the cusp of the Super Bowl, and Oakland is one of the worst teams in the league. However Woodson spins it, money was almost certainly the determining factor. Going on 37, Woodson has lost multiple steps the past few seasons, but will still likely be a better option than Usama Young opposite Tyvon Branch at safety. It's possible he won't be a 1,000-snap player, instead playing somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-750.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent Charles Woodson is "intrigued" by the idea of finishing his career in Oakland.
Schefter previously reported on
NFL Live
that the Broncos had made a "fair offer" in contract talks, but it's possible Woodson would prefer to return to Oakland. We still anticipate Woodson landing in Denver, where the team is much further along. The Raiders have the look of a four-win club at best.

Coach John Fox said Monday the Broncos are in "wait and see" mode regarding free agent Charles Woodson joining the team.
The sides were reportedly "closing in on completing a deal" last week, before talks "hit a snag." The Raiders have since showed interest, although Woodson is likely using Oakland as leverage. Denver is easily his best bet if he wants to finish his career on a contender. Woodson is entering his age-37 season.

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) says his foot is 100 percent healed.
Ford suffered Lisfranc injuries in each of the past two seasons, but finally appears to be 100 percent. The explosive receiver has a career 17.0 YPR average, and anticipates being used on returns this season in addition to being one of the team's top pass catchers. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, it will be important for Ford to show he can remain healthy.

New Raiders KR Josh Cribbs (meniscus surgery) says he'll be ready "when it’s time to play football."
Cribbs called Jets GM John Idzik's observation that his knee "(wasn't) quite there yet" a "negotiation tactic" before admitting he might not be ready to practice for over a month. Regardless, Cribbs should be ready well in advance of Week 1, and is slotted in as the Raiders' primary return man.
