The Los Angeles captain didn't think the play warranted any discipline after the game because it was more of a full body collision than a knee-on-knee hit and apparently the league agrees. "Rozsival was cutting to the middle and I cut across and made contact," Brown explained. "Obviously, they thought it was a kneeing. It happened at high speed. I felt like I got him with my shoulder and my left side and his right side all made contact from toe to shoulder." The Coyotes had some choice words for Brown and the officiating following the contest, but they'll have to wait until next season to seek retribution. Brown leads all active playoff participants with 16 points in 14 games. He is also tied for first with a plus-13 rating and has been credited with 67 hits. May 23 |

Williams has two goals and eight points in the 10 playoff games thus far, with his goals and four of his points coming in the last four games. "I probably go a little more under the radar because we have so many high-profile guys on our team," Williams said. "I'm more than comfortable with that. It's helpful being under the radar, if you can produce." The 30-year-old has 13 goals and 37 points in 61 career playoff games. May 15 |

Lewis got a huge boost when Darryl Sutter took over in December from Terry Murray and has not looked back since. "He was always a terribly fast, hard-working guy and he's invaluable at this level," Kevin Westgarth said. "You can see he works the hardest out there, and he's got a lot of confidence going now. That's huge. He's willing to carry the puck through the neutral zone and do a lot of stop-up plays. Doughty was whistled for an interference call in the extra session, that him livid at the referee, but the Kings killed off the infraction and scored later in the frame to win the series in five games. "There were a couple of messages from Brooks (Orpik) and Sidney (Crosby)," said Scuderi. "Just them saying, 'Good luck.' It's always nice to get a show of support from your friends." He won the Cup as a member of the Penguins in 2009 and joined the Kings as a free agent the following summer. Mitchell has come close before, especially with the Minnesota Wild in 2003 on their magical ride, so it will be a special time for him next week, playing for the Cup. "As a kid you play how many road-hockey games playing for it," Mitchell said. "I'm just going to enjoy it. I had a time there where I didn't know if hockey was going to even going to continue for that matter. So I think at this time of year, after going through that, it allows me to enjoy it that much more." Mitchell has been a solid blueliner throughout his career and is a valuable member of the Kings as he is partnering Slava Voynov on the blueline. Mitchell was originally drafted by the Devils in the eighth round of the 1996 Draft. It should be interesting if he gets to face the organization that drafted him in the Final. May 25 |

It was a shorthanded effort as he became only the second Kings defenseman to score on a penalty kill in the playoffs as Rob Blake also did it in the 1993 playoffs. Quick stopped 38 out of 41 shots as the Kings edged the Coyotes in a wild contest. He also continued a remarkable run in which he's allowed three goals or less in every playoff game.
